| Saturday 8th September |
| Meeting point |
At 9:30 a.m. at the railway station in Appenzell (you can't get lost there). To get
there check out the timetable at www.sbb.ch. The train from Zurich leaves at 7:40
and arrives at 9:27 at Appenzell.
For those who live far away we can organise accommodation on Friday evening at Pia's or
Matthias' place.

Guided tour through the village of Appenzell |

Departure by train. Trip to Brülisau by train and bus, then by gondola up to Hoher Kasten.
3 to 4 hours of hiking along the crest to our overnight stay place, the Hundstein Hütte, in the heart
of the absolutely idyllic, lovely and peaceful Alpstein Mountains.

| Sunday 9th September |
| Morning |
Swimming in the nearby lake called "Fählensee" (about 15°C). ;-)
Then hiking back to Appenzell on different walkways depending on your wishes. |
| Afternoon |
Possibility to spend the afternoon in Appenzell or St.Gallen. |
Bad-weather-programme
Even when it's raining we will hike up to the Hundstein Hütte. So think about taking good rainwear with you.
Bring with you:
- Good shoes for hiking. We highly recommend special hiking shoes, no sneakers. If you don't have any, try
to ask around if anyone of your friends or working colleagues may borrow you some.
- Medium endurance
- Rainwear
- Swimsuit and towel
- Picnic for lunch on Saturday and Sunday (sandwiches, fruits, chocolates etc. enough to drink, min. 1l)
- You don't need a sleeping bag, there are wool blankets.
Costs
35 Sfr, to be paid during the weekend.
included:
- Transport from Appenzell to Hoher Kasten
- Guided tour in Appenzell
- Lodging on Saturday with dinner and breakfast
not included:
- Picnic
- Train ticket to and from Appenzell
