Feldschlösschen & Freiburg Weekend 2002
15-16th November 2002 (Fri-Sat)
This Friday we will enjoy the taste of a Feldschlösschen beer
at the Brewery in Basel. Saturday a visit to Germany is on schedule;
visit the Schwarzwald and explore the beautiful environment 40 minutes
away from Basel.

Programme
| Friday 15th November |
| 13:30 |
Meeting at the Rheinfelden railway station. The Feldschlössen
brewery is really close from here. After a guided tour there will be
free food and beer to convince you about the taste of their beer.
During the evening we will visit Basel at night, and stay there for
the night. |
| Saturday 16th November |
| 10:45 |
Meeting in the Basel railway station's hall. Train to Freiburg, a
short tour across the border into Germany. The city is famous about
its beautiful surroundings and historical buildings. As shopping in
Germany is much cheaper as in Switzerland you can buy your food here
too. After we spent a whole day in Freiburg there will be a German
dinner, after which we take the train back to Switzerland. |
Important about the Programme
You can also subscribe for one day. If you only want to visit the
brewery, this is no problem. Write in your comments you only want to
participate during the Friday. If nothing has been mentioned you will
be considered going both days.
Accomodation
Depending how many people need lodging we will try to put you
within the houses of IAESTE trainees. If this is no possibility or
there are too many of you needing accommodation we will arrange a
guesthouse.
Do not forget to take with you
- Take care you ate some food before you visit the brewery
- Your international student card (if you have one)
- A sleeping bag, food for Saturday morning (depending on accommodation)
- Your train ticket (half price, GA, Gleis 7,...)
- Some money (for drinks, wine,...)
- Your passport (be sure you are allowed to enter Germany, without needing a visum)
Costs
At the moment we cannot give any insights in costs. The visit to
the brewery is free, including the food and drinks. The general costs
will probably include: diner in Basel, accommodation, train trip to
Freiburg, programme in Freiburg.
Last Remarks
IAESTE Switzerland is not responsible for anything in case of an
accident. Make sure that you are well insured (also outside
Switzerland!). If you are only insured within Switzerland a travel
agency can give you a one-day insurance for just a few CHF.
Finally: Germany is one of the countries where they use the Euro.
The cheapest way of getting Euros is using your cash card in an ATM
machine in Germany itself. You do not need any Euros upfront.
