3-Lakes Biking

16. - 17. August 2003

The landscape between the three lakes "Lake of Bienne", "Lake of Neuchatel" and "Lake of Murten" is very nice - just perfect for biking. On Saturday we will start our biking tour in Murten, cycle to the "Lake of Bienne" where we will make a break. Of course we will jump also into the water for a swim.
In the evening we will return to Murten where we will enjoy a barbecue and a night in the straw of a farming house. On Sunday we will cylce to Yverdon. We will make a stop in Estavayer-Le-Lac for swimming or waterskiing. In Estavayer-Le-Lac is the only lift for waterskiers in Switzerland.

Saturday, August 16th

• 10:00: Meeting at the train station in Murten
• Rest of the Morning: Cycling
• Lunch: Somewhere on the way (take the lunch with you)
• Afternoon: Of course Cycling with a break for swimming
• Evening: Barbequeing at a farming house

• Tour: Murten - Sugiez - Ins - Zihlkanal/Marin - Erlach - Aare-Mündung -
• Kerzers - Murten

Sunday, August 17th

• 08:00 Breakfast
• 09:00 Cycling
• Lunch: Break (and waterskiing) in Estavayer-Le-Lac
• Evening: go back home

• Tour: Murten - Sugiez - Estavayer-Le-Lac - Yverdon


• Distance: 43km

NOTE: Accomodation

The accommodation is basic. We will sleep in the straw of a farming house. Shower is available

Insurance

IAESTE Switzerland is not responsible for anything in case of an accident. Make sure that you are well insured.

Participants & Costs

The number of participants is limited to 15 persons (staff included). Priority will be given to trainees and members from IAESTE, AIESEC and ESN.

Costs

(to be paid cash on Saturday morning): The costs are CHF 90.- for IAESTE, AIESEC and ESN people. CHF 100 for guests.

• Included: Rent of the cycles , lodging , dinner and breakfast
• NOT included: Return ticket from your home to Murten/Yverdon, lunch on Saturday, and alcoholic drinks.
• Discount:
  - You bring your own bike with you: 56.-

We will have registration at the train station upon arrival in Murten. Please have the exactly 90CHF ready for payment. We do NOT accept credit cards or checks. Afterwards we will cycle together to the farming house where you can leave your luggage.

In case of late cancellations or emergencies during the weekend, 079 214 94 00 will be the phone number from Friday at 15 pm. 

Participation after signing up to this event is mandatory. Because places are limited we kindly ask you to cancel at least 5 days before the event if you can’t participate. This gives IAESTE enough time to find a person to replace you. If you don’t show up for the weekend without proper cancellation you will be charged for the full price for reasons of fairness.
