Fribourg & Gruyère

Come and discover the region where the Gruyère cheese and the famous black-
and-white cows come from. Join the IAESTE weekend in this beautiful landscape!
Programme
We'll meet in Fribourg, outside of the main railway station (Place de la Gare) on Saturday 18th September at 10:45.

After dropping off your bags at the hostel, we will spend the afternoon in the
city. We'll have picnic in a brewery, and go on a guided tour of Fribourg (approx.
2 hour-walk). You'll see the old town, the cathedral, the ramparts and many others.
Then, we'll do the visit of l'Espace Jean Tinguely - Niki de Saint Phalle, showing
the work of these uncommon artists.
In the evening, we'll have dinner at the hostel. And then, party in Fribourg!

| Sunday 19th September |
|
After having breakfast at the hostel, we'll travel to Moléson-Village.
There, we'll enjoy the outdoor activities, such as tobboggan, trottinerbe and
devalkart. After this, you'll all learn and see how cheese is made in a traditional
cheese dairy. There won't be any more secret about Gruyère, with this
live cheese-making show, followed by a tasting!
Now that our stomach is full, we'll walk back to Gruyère in order to burn
all these extra calories. This is an easy 2-hour walk, don't worry! Once in
Gruyère, you can either visit the old town, or just take your way back home.

Costs for the Weekend
The price of the weekend is Sfr. 75.-, and includes:
- One night housing in Fribourg Youth Hostel
- All visits and entrance fees
- Saturday dinner; Sunday breakfast and lunch
- Transportation from Fribourg to Moléson-Village
Not included:
- Transportation to Fribourg and back home from Gruyère
- Saturday's lunch, please bring your own picnic
In case you are not a trainee or member of IAESTE, an extra charge of Sfr. 20.- will apply.
Please take with you
- Student card(s), especially ISIC/Euro 26 if you have
- Comfortable shoes for the hike and the city tour
- Saturday's lunch, please bring your own picnic
- Lots of energy and good mood :-)
Note that you DON'T need your sleeping bag.
