Les Diablerets 2004

Ski & Party

The Ultimate IAESTE Winter Event

3rd to 5th December 2004

Panorama

Summary

For trainees in Switzerland, LC members, alumnies and all IAESTE people all over the world.

Switzerland, the greatest skiing country in the world, and IAESTE LC Lausanne, offer you a weekend you won't ever forget.

No matter if you have never seen snow before in your life or if you are a world champion in downhill racing: This weekend is for you! We will offer skiing classes for the beginners and ski races for the pros, hot wine and fondue for the real chalet experience and a neverending party that will tiren even the toughest party addicts!

Programme

Friday 3rd December

From 9pm on, we meet at the chalet for a "vin chaud" (warm alcoholic beverage) and snacks at the chalet warming party. Please bring your own food for Friday evening.

Saturday 4th December

Ski rental for those who don't have the skiing or snowboarding equipment.
Skiing and sunbathing on the glacier during the day. If you're not an experienced skier, lessons will be given by our professional staff :-)
Finally, there will be a relaxing evening program: we will have a typical fondue after this skiing day. Then, we'll start drinking, dancing, playing games and maybe we'll manage to fit a movie projection.

Sunday 5th December

More skiing and sunbathing during the day and trip back home in the evening after having a warm soup.

Skiing or Snowboarding

We organize ski and snowboard rental in les Diablerets. Please select the appropriate option in the registration form.

For skiers, the following equipment can be rented: skis, sticks, boots. For snowboarders: board and boots are possible.

In addition to this, you must bring with your own warm clothes. Warm jeans and raintrousers are an option, but we recommend to organize proper skiing/boarding pants - ask your workmates! In any case, unprotected jeans would get wet and start to freeze - not pleasant.... Additional equipment you need: ski/winter jacket, gloves, a cap, sunglasses and sun cream.

Note: A few pants or jackets can also be rented (additional charge). Write in the 'remarks' in the registration form if you are interested. We need to check the number with the shop, and cannot promise anything right now.

The ski pass to use the skilifts is included.

Especially for the beginners and even more for the ones who have never seen snow before: Don't worry! Join us! We organize classes especially for you (for free).

Don't Forget

  • Warm clothes
  • Skiing or snowboarding pants
  • Skiing gloves (really important if you are a beginner! The normal ones will get wet very quickly)
  • Sun screen, sunglasses, winter hat, thick socks
  • Slippers, towel and all the necessary to be clean after a skiing day and to be dressed up and sexy for the night dinners and parties
  • Sleeping bags: if you don't have one, there will be some warm blankets, but you have to bring light sheets to cover the bed

If you like some special kind of music, please take your compact discs (write your name on the cover). Prepare some fun games - and if you happen to have a good bottle from your country, don't leave it at home!

Costs for 2 Days and 2 Nights

  • Food, drinks (a reasonable amount of alcohol is included), accomodation and ski-pass for 2 days: CHF 150.-
  • Ski and boot rental for 2 days: ca. CHF 70.-
  • Guests outside of IAESTE, AIESEC, ESN or IAAS pay an extra CHF 20.-

Transportation

The cheapest way to reach Les Diablerets is to use "Gleis 7" or a "SBB/CFF General Abonnement", but you may have to pay one part of the trip with "Gleis 7" (i.e. the part before 7pm).
