June 18-19, 2005
The second weekend of the IAESTE summer program for 2005 takes place in Basel. If you have just arrived Switzerland and can't wait to meet other trainees from all over the world, you don't want to miss out on this event!
When / Where
We meet at the Railway station in Liestal (not Basel) at the meeting point at on Saturday, June 18, at 11:10 am.

- Swimming in the Rhine or just chilling at the Rhine
- Trottinett race or hike in Baselland
Programme
Saturday
- 11:10 AM: arrival at the railway station in Liestal; we meet at the meeting point.
- Afterwards: We take the Bus to Reigoldswil where we will take the cablecar up to "Wasserfallen" where we rent
"Trottinetts" (kind of scooter) for a fast and furious race back down (in case of bad weather we will go for a hike in
Baselland).
- Evening: Big Raclette (famous Swiss cheese dish) evening at the Christian's place. We will provide food & drinks.
- Trainees from Basel (or elsewhere) are also welcome to join us just for the Raclette in the evening.
Sunday
- Morning: Getting up & having breakfast.
- Afterwards: We'll go for a small sightseeing tour through Basel that will end up at the Art Show
- Afternoon: Meeting point at the Birsköpfli at the Rhein, where we can go for a swim in the Rhine or just relax
Costs
- The participation fee is CHF 70, and must be paid at the beginning of the weekend.
- The fee includes
- Lodging (the night between Saturday and Sunday)
- Local transport
- Entrance Art Show
- Scooter rental and cable-car ride
- Raclette on Saturday
- Breakfast and lunch on Sunday
- not included: train ticket from your home to Basel
- The costs for just the Raclette on Saturday night is CHF 10.
Don't forget

- Swim suit and towel
- sleeping bag
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Rain jacket in case of bad weather
Number of participants and registration
Please register for this event between 2005-06-13 09:00 and 2005-06-16 12:00 (registration exclusively electronically and in the given time frame; link for registration published here during this time).
The first ones to do so who fit in our group of up to 40 people (including helpers) are in! If the list of participants is already filled up, you can still register. You are then added to the waiting list, and with a bit of luck you can still join!
