Interlaken is situated in Berner Oberland between the two lakes Thuner and Brienzer surrounded by beautiful Swiss mountains.

During the River Rafting Weekend we will get the chance to explore this region from the river as well as by foot.

IAESTE LC Zurich and LC Basel invites you to experience a thrilling rafting and to discover the beatiful area of Interlaken/Berner Oberland!

Saturday, August 05
11:00: Registration at the train station Interlaken West and check-in at Happy-Inn Lodge 12:00: Start of the rafting at the River Rafting Base Afternoon: Rafting on the black Lütschine between Lütschental and Zweilütschinen Dinner: 18.30 at Happy-Inn Lodge After dinner: Feel free to discover the nightlife in Interlaken
Sunday, August 06
09:00 - 10:00 Breakfast Hiking in the beautiful Swiss Alps in the Mürren region Visiting the famous waterfalls of Trümmelbach Evening: back in Interlaken, picking up luggage Afterwards: Departure

Prices

• With SBB General Abonnement (GA): 110 CHF
• With SBB half-fare (1/2): 120 CHF
• Without SBB half-fare (1/2): 125 CHF (but we recommend you buying a SBB half-fare card, check the SBB website!)

A surcharge of 35 CHF will apply for participants who are not affiliated with IAESTE or its partner organisations.

The money will be collected at the start of the weekend. Only cash is accepted! :-)

• Riverrafing on Lütschine River(incl. equipment like boat, neoprene suit, life jacket and helmet)
• Lodging Saturday to Sunday
• Dinner Saturday
• Breakfast and lunch pack Sunday
• Train during the hiking
• Entrance to Trümmelbach waterfalls

Not included in the price

• Return ticket from your home to Interlaken
• Diner on Sunday

Important - what to bring

• If you have Gleis 7: buy a one-way ticket from your city to Interlaken West
• If you do not have Gleis 7: buy a round-trip ticket from your city to Interlaken West and back
• Lunch for Saturday and drinks for the whole weekend
• Swimming suit, towel
• Clothes depending on the weather
• Good mood and a portion of courage!
• Sunglasses and sun cream
• Hiking shoes for the hiking tour (NO city shoes or sandales)
• Lots of energy and your best smile!
• No Sleeping bag required!

Important remarks about rafting

Important notes

IAESTE Switzerland is not responsible for any damage or accident! IAESTE Switzerland and IAESTE Local Committees Zurich and Basel do not provide any kind of insurance coverage for the river rafting on Saturday and for the hiking on Sunday. Participating on the weekend means participating at one's own risk. Make sure that you are well insured (medical, accidental & liability insurance!).

Meeting Point and Transportation

We will meet at Interlaken West railway station on Saturday, 5th of August at 11:00 on track 2.

People coming from Zürich: we will meet at 8.40 at the meeting point in Zürich main station (main floor, under the big clock). We will organise a one way group ticket from Zürich to Interlaken. If you want to join this group ticket indicate it on the registration form. (People having a GA can as well be included which reduces the price of the group ticket. Of course they still travel for free.)

Number of participants and registration

Please register for this event between 2006-08-02 12:00 and 2006-08-02 17:00 (registration exclusively electronically and in the given time frame, valid e-mail address required; link for registration published here during this time).

The first ones to do so who fit in our group of up to 48 people (including helpers) are in! If the list of participants is already filled up, you can still register. You are then added to the waiting list, and with a bit of luck you can still join!
