Basel Weekend 16/17 June 2007

If you want to discover a nice city and meet other trainees from all over the world, you can't miss this event!

When

We meet at the Railway Station Basel (SBB) at the meeting point in the main entrance on Saturday, 16 June 2007, at 9:20 AM (the weekend will be worth the early getting up!).

Programme

Saturday June 16
  • 09:20 We meet at the meeting point at SBB
  • Guided sightseeing tour through Basel (in English)
  • Afterwards: We will split the group, you can go to Basel's famous zoo or to the 38th edition of Art Basel, the international art show (Messe Basel).
  • Late afternoon: We will do a boat trip on the Rhein River and have an ápero
  • Evening: Barbecue, we will provide food and drinks
Sunday June 17
  • Morning: Getting up and having breakfast
  • Afterwards: We will take the Bus to Reigoldswil where we will take the cable car up to "Wasserfallen" to do a short walk. We rent then "Trottinetts" (kind of scooter) for a fast and furious race back down.

Please take with you

  • lunch for Saturday
  • sleeping bag
  • comfortable shoes
  • rain jacket in case of bad weather

Costs

The participation fee is 60-70 CHF (depends on number of participants) and is to be paid at the beginning of weekend.

This includes

  • Lodging (the night between Saturday and Sunday)
  • Local transport
  • Entrance to Art Basel/Zoo
  • Trottinett rental and cable car ride
  • BBQ on Saturday
  • Breakfast on Sunday

NOT included: train ticket from your home to Basel and back

Number of participants and registration

The maximum number of participants allowed for this event is 25 (including organizers and helpers) and the registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. If your registration is not among the first 25, you will be put on the waiting list. With a bit of luck, you will still be able to participate!
